Partners and ISVs can now take advantage of the power of the SAP HANA Platform to develop new applications with advanced reporting analysis, and planning in a real time. SAP HANA-based applications can be distinguished into these two broad categories:
- Traditional client-based scenarios, where an external application accesses the SAP HANA data model (tables, analytic views, etc.) via client interfaces such as ODBC and JDBC, and only uses SQL and native SQLScript procedures.
- Web-based application that take full advantage of the SAP HANA Extended Application Services. In this scenario, clients access SAP HANA data using standard OData or XML for Analysis (XMLA) interfaces, or directly use a Web-based GUI that was developed using SAP UI5 toolkit, and that uses custom-developed server-side JavaScript, as well as native SQLScript procedures.
SAP offers certification for such applications running on HANA, details are described below. ISVs and partners who have developed HANA-based applications should contact the SAP Integration and Certification Center (SAP ICC)to sign up.
Getting Started
The SAP Integration and Certification Center highly recommends that ISVs and partners, who are interested in developing apps on HANA start by visiting the SAP HANA Developer Center for tutorials and system access.
Once your app is ready, please provide us a basic overview of the app as per the attached questionnaire
For generic information about certifying integrations with SAP solutions, begin with our page Getting Started with Integration and Certification that explains the SAP ICC services and describes the process how to obtain them. This page helps you select the correct integration scenario and contains technical information, streaming media presentations, step-by-step guides, and much more.

Test System Recommendation from ICC
- SAP HANA One Platform on Amazon Web Services: You can access SAP HANA One in-memory platform in the cloud – hosted by Amazon Web Services – for a faster, more affordable way to build and deploy your HANA-based application. SAP HANA One allows fast deployment, operational flexibility and faster time-to-market to develop and deploy for use-cases that can be satisfied by 60.5GB memory. You will be able to provide the resulting applications to end users for productive use in the cloud.
- For pure development or testing purposes (non-productive use), you can also use the SAP HANA Developer Center
